Universal Recipes & Self-care Guide: 3-in-1 Soap
A moisturizing and restorative cleansing blend! The final product will be a rich, creamy cleanser.
A) 3-in-1 Rice Water & Mango Butter Cleanser
This recipe yields a nourishing, multipurpose creamy wash suitable for hands, hair, and body.
Ingredients
-
1/4 cup of Fermented or Plain Rice Water (Provides strengthening nutrients for hair and skin)
-
1/4 cup of Liquid Castile Soap (The primary cleansing agent and foaming base)
-
1 Tablespoon (TBS) of Black Castor Oil (Known for moisturizing hair and stimulating growth)
-
1 Tablespoon (TBS) of Mango Butter (Adds a thick, creamy consistency and intense hydration)
Instructions
-
Prepare the Mango Butter: Mango butter is solid at room temperature and needs to be fully liquefied to blend smoothly without clumping.
-
Place the 1 TBS of Mango Butter in a small, heat-safe glass bowl.
-
Use a double boiler (or place the bowl in a pan of simmering water) to gently melt the butter until it is completely liquid and clear. Remove from heat.
-
-
Blend the Oils: Add the 1 TBS of Black Castor Oil to the melted mango butter. Stir well to combine. This ensures the oil and butter are fully integrated before adding the water-based ingredients.
-
Combine Liquids: In a separate, larger mixing bowl, gently combine the 1/4 cup of Rice Water and the 1/4 cup of Liquid Castile Soap. Stir slowly to avoid creating too many suds.
-
Emulsify (Mix): Slowly drizzle the melted butter and oil mixture (from Step 2) into the soap and rice water mixture (from Step 3).
-
Stir continually and gently as you pour. The mixture will start to thicken slightly and take on a creamy, opaque consistency as the butter tries to emulsify with the liquid.
-
-
Store: Pour the final creamy cleanser into a clean, air-tight jar or wide-mouth container.
